The first ever Maltese Cup Competition was organised in 1910-1911.

Floriana had won 25 Cup finals and lost 13 Cup Finals. The Club is still the most successful Cup winner on the Island - 18 FA Trophies, 4 MFA Cups, 3 Cousis Shield winners. The Greens lost 11 FA trophy, 1 Cousis Shield and 1 MFA Cup (Malta Cup) finals. The Club's highest score in a final was 5-0 against Sliema Wanderers in the season 1992-1993 and the worst score was 4-0 against Sliema Wanderers in the first FA Trophy Final, 1934-1935.

Floriana FC together with Sliema Wanderers, Valletta FC and Hamrun Spartans had three consecutive wins in a row (1952-1953, 1953-1954, 1954-1955).
