The Executive Committee of the Malta Football Association has decided that the start of the BOV Premier League for the 2020/21 season will be delayed by a week and will now kick-off in the weekend starting on the 19th September 2020.
This was done to make sure that all clubs have adequate time to prepare for the upcoming season after a number of clubs had to stop pre-season training when a number of players were found positive to COVID-19.
Furthermore the MFA Exco also approved the Return to Play medical protocol devised by the MFA. This has now been submitted to the National Health Authorities for appoval.
The Malta Football Association also confirmed that until further notice, all the BOV Premier League 2020/21 matches will be played behind closed doors.
